eMobility is a young sector, kicking off since approx. 2010 and developing fast. Many countries see the enormous potential for CO2-savings of transport electrification but are at the same time wary of the significant investments this takes. Therefore, they support a full- or semi-market driven development of eMobility and EV charging infrastructure, counting on utilities, transport companies and new start-ups to deliver an attractive proposition to the EV driver and build a mature market. 

GreenBee supports many national and regional governments with policy and regulatory advice to make eMobility happen. We support in developing policies that help to develop a mature market with attractive propositions and a clear definition of (public and private) roles and responsibilities, but also the regulation to assure standards and interoperability, delivering a uniform experience for the EV drivers.

We have supported ministries in defining the scope and content of their policies, and which standards to prescribe to best support the economic development in the country. We also provide hands-on policy support to government agencies or utilities who actively want to take on market roles to assure swift progress, or because their island may not have the scale for a mature market to develop. Sometimes regulatory support is needed to define the instruments how to monitor market developments, or to provide expert advice on matters of security or the environment: How to assure the safe placement of chargers next to petrol stations? How to assure that EV batteries and chargers will be properly disposed and recycled?
