In the eMobility market, creating interoperability by harmonizing standards and protocols has proven to be cost-efficient, user-centric, and conducive to scalable services. The harmonization spans across various layers, including hardware, communication, information, service, and business. All these layers contribute to interoperability within the eMobility ecosystem. 

 An example: thanks to interoperability, EV drivers can access services seamlessly, regardless of the owner or provider of the charging service, resulting in enhancement of the overall user experience.

EVRoaming Foundation

The objective of the EVRoaming Foundation is to facilitate roaming services for charging electric vehicles and provide transparent information to consumers about charging locations and prices, by use of the open and independent Open Charge Point Interface (OCPI) protocol. The ultimate goal is to allow any EV driver to charge at any charging station in the EU: simplify, standardize, and harmonize. Roland Ferwerda, Managing Director and co-founder of NTCS GreenBee, is a board member of the EVRoaming Foundation.
